The price per m² in Khayelitsha has risen strongly during the last 6 months. In November, the average price per m² was R 122. In December this price barely changed remaining at R 122 per m². The price for the following two months in (January, February) had a considerable rise of 315 %. The price per m² has risen 105 % in the last two months compared to the average price for the previous four months. This was obtained by comparing the first four months of the period going from a price per m² of R 253,25 to R 267 during March, and April.
When referring to the price in Khayelitsha (cities & towns), this has risen considerably in the last 6 months. The average price for November is R 4 683. During December the price had a slight fall till R 4 208. During the following two months (January, February) the average price had a considerable rise of 682 % with regard to the previous two months. During the last two months the average price has fallen greatly compared to the previous four going from R 17 384 to R 5 425,5, which means a 31 % fall.
